Clynelish ist eine der am nördlichsten gelegenen Brennereien Schottlands. Sie wurde 1819 in Brora von den Marquess of Strafford gegründet. Ihre Gründung bedeutete das Ende der Schwarzbrennerei in diesem Gebiet und stellte einen Markt für lokal angebaute Gerste bereit. Wasser wird vom Clynemilton Burn hergeleitet, um diesen fruchtigen, leicht rauchigen Single Malt Scotch Whisky herzustellen, der auch von Kennern sehr geschätzt wird.

One of the most northerly in Scotland, Clynelish distillery, was established in Brora by the Marquess of Stafford in 1819. Its building signalled the end of illicit distilling in the area and provided a ready market for locally grown barley. Water is piped from the Clynemilton burn to produce this fruity, slight smoky Single Malt Scotch Whisky much appreciated by connoisseurs.

Dieser hellere Whisky ist sanft mit erdigen Aromen zwischen dem sonst parfümartigen Aroma. Zunächst tritt ein Zitrusgeschmack auf, welcher einem wuchtigen Malz weicht, der im Abgang lang andauert. Der Nachgeschmack ist sowohl süß wie reife Zitrusfrüchte, als auch malzig lang.

This light coloured expression is soft yet earthy on the otherwise perfumed nose. The citrus is first on the palate giving way to a heavy malty flavour which lingers in the finish. The aftertaste is both sweet and citrus with some lingering malt flavours.
